How it Works
When images are taken, they are often taken slightly too dark. This is because it's important to capture the lightest areas of an image, and ensure those light areas have balance settings. The dark shadow areas may look too dark, but in reality they can be fixed in editing, whereas the bright areas cannot. This is due to light not providing enough data into the camera sensor to achieve this and therefore only the shadowy areas of a photograph can be fixed post-processing.
A lot of the time people think editing an image is as easy as 'pressing a button' or just 'sliding the brightness up' but below we show you the differences between the original image, 'just sliding the brightness up', and the result of editing an image through the correct processes.
